Animoca Brands, announced an initiative to support the expansion opportunities in Japan of Web3 projects from overseas. As the first step of this initiative, the NFTs "De: Centralized Cat (D:CC)” usable within the blockchain game Nine Chronicles M, currently played in around 150 countries, will be made available for purchase and trade on Coincheck NFT starting on 3 April 2024. Foreign companies and projects seeking to enter the Japanese Web3 market face several challenges resulting from Japan's unique laws, business practices, language barrier, and other factors. Japan's unique entertainment culture, including anime, manga, and games, which are considered to have a high affinity with Web3, have demonstrated strong appeal in the country and present attractive opportunities for overseas companies and projects.
Wargaming Cofounder $50 Million Investment in Mobile Gaming

Wargaming cofounder Nick Katselapov has launched Mika Games, a gaming investment сompany that aims to invest $50 million in mobile game studios. So far, Mika Games has raised $10 million in an initial funding round led by Boston-based venture capital firm Flint Capital. Nicosia, Cyprus-based Mika Games wants to provide capital and comprehensive growth support to mobile game studios in their soft launch stage, meaning they have a game ready to launch for testing in a single market. The goal is to ultimately invest $50 million in a portfolio of gaming studios, in order to help them become self-sufficient and scale from the seed stage, increasing valuations and aiming at an eventual initial public offering. Parallel Studios Secures $35 Million in New Funding Round to Expand Its Sci-Fi World

The $35 million raised in the new funding round will be used by Parallel Studios to further expand its sci-fi world to new platforms, supporting marketing and development of its free-to-play card game alongside the upcoming AI-powered sim, Colony. Parallel Studios, the developers of blockchain card game Parallel, have announced that they have managed to secure an impressive $35 million in a new funding round, with the focus on expanding its sci-fi world over to new platforms.
Funding Details
The following venture firms participated in the latest round: Spartan, Solana Ventures, VanEck, Base Ecosystem Fund, Distributed Global, The Operating Group, Focus Labs, Big Brain Holdings, Devmons, Synergis, Amber, GoldenChain, Builder Capital, and more. A couple of angel investors took part as well, some of which include the CEO of Yield Guild Games, Gabby Dizon, Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz, as well as Loopify, the founder of Endless Clouds, a game dev studio who is working on Web3 MMORPG Treeverse and PvP brawler Capsule Heroes.
