In an exciting move, Animoca Brands and its subsidiary, Darewise Entertainment, have unveiled the OPAL Protocol. This new venture uses Bitcoin's Ordinals to create a diverse ecosystem across gaming, entertainment, DeFi, and education. Central to OPAL is the Runes token, $BLIF, now integrated into Darewise's online game, Life Beyond. This marks a crucial move toward integrating crypto into mainstream gaming. Yat Siu, Animoca Brands' executive chairman, said: "Building up our presence on the Bitcoin chain through the exciting work of the OPAL Protocol will help to advance our vision of an open metaverse." One thing's for sure: Animoca and Darewise are not alone in this venture. They are joined by several top-tier partners, such as Xverse, Alex Labs, and Magic Eden. This partnership underscores the platform's goals and commitment to creating a sustainable Web3 ecosystem. To fuel engagement and innovation, Animoca Brands introduced a Proof of Value Work (PoVW) system, which rewards community members for their contributions. With that, early adopters of the $BLIF token will receive a token grant. Grant holders are expected to play an active role in enhancing the utility of this protocol.

Patriots Division has raised $5 million for Shadow War, a 5-versus-5 third-person action game set in the sci-fi future. Malmö, Sweden-based Patriots Division said it has raised the $5 million in a combined amount from both its seed and Series A funding rounds. Momentum 6 leds the Series A round with additional backing from iAngels, Cointelligence Fund, Xborg, Andromeda VC, Cogitent Ventures, and Cluster Capital. Developed by Patriots Division, Shadow War is a Web3 game that the company said puts player enjoyment and world-building at the forefront.
